Day 37

In addition to a brisk walk on the beach, perhaps check out one of the various offerings of

YOGA ON THE BEACH

If there is a beach, there's a good chance that there is an early morning or cool evening yoga class happening. Its hard to imagine a better setting with a clean beach around you and the sound of the crashing waves, not to mention the likelihood of a bikini or 2!

What exactly is Yoga? Yoga is a form of exercise that uses slow movements and stretching. It is good for increasing flexibility and balance. It is also good for relieving stress and relaxing. Yoga has been used as a meditation technique for thousands of years. As you exercise, you meditate on what your body is feeling and try to be "one with the universe."

Check your local community calendar, or look online. njbeachyoga.com is one example! The beach is YOURS afterall, go become "one" with it.

Day 31

Gaining in popularity every year, its actually a mystery why its not bigger than it is already:

CINCO DE MAYO ON THE NJ SHORE!

Its a beautiful day today, and if you need an excuse to immerse yourself in Mexico culture then today is it!

The holiday is not to be confused with Mexico's Independence from Spain, but originates from its war with France in which Mexico and their 4000 troops prevailed over 8000 French. We appreciate and honor their history and culture by beating pinatas, eating & drinking at the many Mexican establishments, or perhaps by ordering Margaritas and Tequila from anywhere!

While anyplace is good regarding the latter (Patio Bar in Point Pleasant Beach anyone?) a few places around the shore will offer a more authentic experience...

Casa Comida in Long Branch with $2 Margaritas and $2 Coronas all day and night! Craig Daniels will be preforming at 7pm and don't forget to enter our prize drawings this year! Prizes Include:

-$500 Travel Voucher
-Stainless Steel Corona Beer Cooler
-Corona Bicycle
-Gift Certificates
-And More!

MCLOONES - ALL locations, will be offering specials all day and night!

LANGOSTA LOUNGE in Asbury Park also really embraces the holiday featuring pinatas, sombreros, beer specials and tequila drinks, she said. Tonight, it will feature a performance by Xol Azul, a Latin rock band.

Other locations along the shore to check out THIS WEEKEND include:

-Joey Harrisons Surf Clue in Ortley Beach

-Hemingway's in Seaside

-The Sawmill in Seaside
